PhotographyI first began to enjoy taking photographs when I was in high school. I tended to be the family member and friend that always had my camera during get togethers. I then began to try to be more creative with my photographs. During my undergrad at Michigan State I was able to travel to Europe for a journalism class (which luckily applied to my teaching major.) This study abroad opportunity focused on photography.
When I became a teacher I knew I wanted to incorporate my photographs into my classroom somehow. The thought came to me during my second year of teaching. I began sharing a "Photo of the Day" with my students where I would ask them what do they wonder or notice about the photograph.

As you can see from the photographs above, I'm not afraid of taking the path less traveled, or sitting on the edge of a cliff, for a good photograph.
